Through The Looking-Glass

Sometimes the deepest wound a woman carries is not what happened to her.

It is how many versions of herself she had to create in order to survive.

The one who smiles.
The one who copes.
The one who forgives.
The one who no longer feels anything.

They lie one behind another, like endless reflections in a corridor of mirrors. Almost identical. Almost alive. Yet each of them is only an attempt to protect the first one the true self.

Blindfolded, the woman is no longer looking into the mirror. She is no longer searching for answers outside herself. Her hand touches the water a symbol of memory, emotion, and the unconscious. The place where everything is stored that was once too painful to fully experience.

Through the Looking Glass is a reflection on how trauma can leave us lost among our own reflections. It is also about the moment when we become willing to stop searching for ourselves in another role, another identity, another mask.

And finally meet who we truly are.

The woman who was there all along.
